Taal Volcano and Tagaytay a cool and a pleasant city
Taal Volcano is an Pelean-type active volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is situated between the cities of Talisay and San Nicolas in Batangas. It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier, very powerful eruption. It is located about 50 km from the capital, Manila.
The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake, the current death toll standing at around 5,000 - 6,000. Because of its proximity to populated areas and eruptive history, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters.
Tagaytay City lies on top of the Tagaytay Ridge, which, at 640 meters above sea level, is the highest point in Cavite. The ridge provides a spectacular view of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano in Batangas. This view supports Tagaytay's main industry, which is tourism.
The City of Tagaytay is a third class city in the province of Cavite. Only 55 kilometers (34.18 miles) away from Manila via Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, it is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. Tagaytay City provides a good view of the Taal Volcano. The city is a popular summer tourist destination because of its cool climate due to its high altitude.
The city of Tagaytay is a tourist attraction for local and foreign visitors. It is an excellent vantage point of Taal Lake and Volcano. Tagaytay offers a breathtaking sight of the famous Taal Lake - a lake within an island within a lake.

Museo ng Maynila and the refurbishing of the century-old Army and Navy Club building.
Today the 2nd January 2008 is my Natal Day.
From Pampanga where I resided, I went to an office in Roxas Blvd for some business matters which I expedite. Afterwards I visited the Museo ng Maynila which is housed in the century-old building of Army and Navy Club.
With the permission of the nice and pretty Lady Officer-In-Charge of the Museo ng Maynila, I was allowed to take some photos inside the building. Unfortunately some of the photos I took were too dark owing perhaps the lighting is not enough or my Digital Camera lenses is not appropriate for indoor shots. Anyhow here is some of the few photos which were good enough.
The lady Officer-In-charge was kind and friendly and she provided me with CD with photos of the Museo ng Maynila during the American era and the Curt Teich postcards Collection.
